Management process

What is a management process?

Management processes form the heart of Dipla. They describe how elements are managed: which activities (tasks) are required to achieve or maintain a specific objective?

How do management processes work?

Management processes are linked to the elements drawn on the map by the Architect. They can then be activated (once). From that moment onwards, Dipla will automatically generate the tasks resulting from that management process.

How is a management process structured?

A management process consists of the total number of steps required to manage an element over a specific period.

Management processes consist of at least 1 step. Each step always consists of 1 Standard + 1 Sub standard. Together, these also form the task name that will ultimately be sent to the Executor.

  • Example:

Standard and sub standard

A standard indicates which action needs to be carried out, e.g. trimming a hedge, emptying a bin, phased mowing, etc.

With sub standards you can further define the standard and create different variants, e.g. trimming a hedge to 0.5 m or 1 m, or emptying a bin daily or weekly. At this level, you also complete the calendar: when and how often should this management measure be carried out each year?

You can also link material (quantity and unit price), labour (hourly rate), machine (hourly rate) and biomass to the sub standards.

Material, labour and machines determine the cost of a management measure.
Both ‘material’ and ‘labour and machines’ are a unique combination of components for ‘materials’ or ‘labour and machine’.

The components contain an hourly rate for labour and machines and a unit price for materials.

Pseudo-tasks

When a management measure is created, Dipla calculates how many tasks need to be carried out and when they need to be carried out. At this stage, these are still pseudo-tasks. They help provide a hypothetical view of the future and help you calculate the costs.

The Architect can then choose which pseudo-tasks should actually be activated.
